HiStory Hospitality are seeking an exceptional Butler to join the opening team of a new luxury destination within a stunning country estate in Buckinghamshire, supporting both the hotel and a collection of serviced cottages across the estate.


This is a unique opportunity to deliver highly personalised service within a beautiful countryside environment, ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and memorable stay through discreet, attentive and intuitive hospitality.


Butler Requirements

  • Experienced Butler or Guest Services professional with a background in luxury hotels, private households or high-end hospitality environments.
  • A natural host with a passion for personalised service and the ability to anticipate guest needs before they arise.
  • Responsible for delivering a seamless guest journey, from arrival and orientation to in-stay service and departure.
  • Ability to provide attentive support to guests staying in both the hotel and serviced cottages across the estate, ensuring comfort, privacy and exceptional service at all times.
  • Strong knowledge of luxury service standards including room setup, in-room dining service, luggage handling and guest assistance.
  • Confident coordinating guest requests including dining reservations, transportation, activities and special occasions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build genuine relationships with guests while maintaining discretion and professionalism.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple guest requests and priorities throughout the day.
  • Ability to work closely with the wider hotel team including housekeeping, food and beverage and concierge to deliver a seamless guest experience.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and pride in maintaining high presentation and service standards.
  • Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays as required in a luxury hospitality environment.
  • A calm, discreet and professional presence with a genuine passion for exceptional hospitality.

Tom Sellers


Hailing from Nottingham, Tom Sellers is a two Michelin-starred Chef who opened his first restaurant, Restaurant Story, at 26. At launch, Tom’s unique approach garnered significant critical acclaim, being awarded a Michelin Star just five months after opening, with a second star following in 2021.


Tom learned his craft from some of the world’s most influential chefs and spent time working alongside the likes of Tom Aikens in London, Thomas Keller at three Michelin-starred Per Se in New York, and René Redzepi at two Michelin-starred Noma in Copenhagen, all before the age of 21.


Story Cellar, a Parisian-inspired rotisserie-style restaurant, opened in 2023 to much critical acclaim, followed by Dovetale at 1 Hotel Mayfair, where the restaurant offers a sustainably minded, produce-led à la carte menu of reimagined European classics, bolstered by dishes cooked over the grill and an abundant raw bar.
